Auto News: You've probably heard a car with seven-speed automatic transmission, or even eight. Hyundai plans to raise the bar by introducing the 10-speed automatic transmission in 2014.
Hyundai Motor Group, the parent company of Hyundai and Kia, ready to design a car with 10-speed automatic transmission cars. This plan in an effort to reduce fuel consumption in the larger car models.
Development of the transmission will be part of Hyundai's product strategy in developing the main components in the global automotive market.
According to a Bloomberg report, the president of Hyundai Motor Group, Park Seong Hyon, said transmission is being designed specifically for luxury models, and will join the line-up variant of Hyundai in 2014.
Candidates for possible variants that are designed with 10-speed transmission is the Hyundai Genesis and Equus sedans, or may also be done on the variant MCH
Previously, Mercedes-Benz last year had announced it is designing a car with a 9-speed automatic.
